How to get free advertising to your web site? How to increase web traffic? How to get guaranteed web site traffic? How to get your web site traffic generator? These are big questions that are on everybody’s mind when they get done with their website. There’s an oxymoron get done with your website if you’re like me your always updating it, changing it or just plain pitter pattering with it. Now back to the question “How to increase web traffic?” There are three ways that I highly recommend, traffic exchanges, safe lists, or write articles. All of these are free, some you have to work at it and some are creative.

Traffic exchanges or TE’s as they are called in affiliate marketing are one of the most common types of free advertising. How this works is you sign up and place your ad or website on their site. Once you do that. You view somebody else’s ad to get a credit. This allows you to get your website seen by others. I have a top ten list on my website if you care to take a look. There are few drawbacks to this because it takes time to do this and it can be boring at times. It also can be dangerous to your wallet because you are enticed in to other people’s ads and you end up buying their product. If you do this keep your mind’s eye on the key objective. That is to sell your product.

The next step, How to get free advertising to your website? This is what they call safe lists. There a few ways to do this. You can buy them this would mean it wouldn’t be free and that’s not why you’re here. For free safe lists it works the same way as TE’S except you send your ad to people on their lists. This is done once or twice a week. Another way is to start your own list. This is hard because you’re trying to get traffic to your website and you don’t have any. So what I suggest is to sign up with affiliate program that gives you more exposure through another means and returns the person’s name and email address. One more thing you can do is put up a link up on your website and start your own list. This will collect the data you will need to remind people of your product.

The final step, How to get free advertising to your website?Is to write articles on how to things. Publish them on your blog. It’s real easy to set up a blog. Go to blogger and it’s free also. I love writing articles because it gets my mind going and with creative ideas. Literally I have a crazy hat collection. I put one on and man my creative juices start to flow. It drives my wife crazy because they do draw people’s attention. I love it because people start talking to you and it’s a great ice breaker to start advertising to strangers without directly saying I want to sell you something. O.k. o.k. I get it, why we are not going to the movies? It’s boring, just imagine this day and age we only do one thing? Hah not any more with the invent of the Nintendo Wii. "AM Talk Shows"

AM Talk Shows are the truckers best friend and anybody who sits in traffic. They help you keep you up to date with opposing perspectives. They work the crowd into a frenzied. They are entertainers of a different breed. They hide behind the micro phone and in hopes that you to call in. If you are disbeliever in what they say then look out. Then you might be their next meal.
The one I like most is Neal Boortz. Neal Boortz aka: The Talk master, Mighty Whitey and The High Priest of The Church of the Painful as he is called. He is by far my most favorite. He is libertarian affiliate and he goes on these rants and rages about anything. A true lawyer who can argue, ”off the cuff”, so to speak. He supports the fair tax movement. He wrote a book called The Fair Tax – The Truth. It’s good. He never talks about abortion and he won’t let anyone talk about it. He said it’s one of those topics that will never be settled. I tend to think this is true. He is also a pilot which aggravates his bosses we he fly’s. I’m sure it related to some insurance thing. He stays at his winter home in Florida. Good for him he has worked his whole life to build the wealth he has and he should do whatever pleases him. One day I hope to meet him and shake his hand. Thank You Neal for your entertainment all these years I have been on the road.

”Hello sweetheart, “my wife says as she is greeting good morning. What are you doing? You’re making a mess in my kitchen. “I made ice cream for breakfast”,I said. You’re crazy. Well maybe I am. I just love ice cream. I love all different flavors peppermint, peach, chocolate, strawberry, green tea, coconut, you name it. I have probably had it.
There are three kinds that I consider to true ice cream. There is the icy kind like Breyers. Which I don’t really care for but it’s real popular among my friends and family. Then there the custard flavor ice cream. This is mostly popular up north. I deliver to one on regular basis in West Virginia. It was heavenly to eat there after you been on the road awhile and your tired of fast food. The last one I really like is the creamy kind like Mayfield Dairy Farms. Yummy good. I am also a big fan of Hooties Ice Cream Parlor in Hoschton, Ga.

"LUNCH ANYBODY"

Merging on the interstates is risky business for both the trucker and the 4-wheeler. Truckers are nervous because they just don’t know what you’re going to do. You’re nervous too! When an accident occurs between a 4-wheeler and truck we call it lunch. Lunch anybody, well I hope not.
“According to data from the U.S. Department of Transportation, about 140,215 fatal and non-fatal truck accidents occur every year, which cause approximately 89,000 injuries and 5,000 fatalities throughout the country.” To get on the interstate follow these rules.
Make sure you are going at the same speed as the traffic you are merging with before you hit the point at which the ramp merges with the highway. This is very important so that those coming up behind you on the highway do not hit you from behind. Be sure to maintain a safe distance from anyone in the merge lane in front of you; they may panic and stop, causing you to rear-end or clip them while merging (never assume they will merge correctly). Put your turn signal on so that the cars on the highway know you are merging into their lane. Look first in your driver's side rearview mirror and then quickly glance out towards the left (when driving in right-side driving countries) and behind you to see if there is any car in your blind spot (the blind spot is the spot that every car has where you cannot see who is really close to you but one lane over behind you). Then quickly check to see if someone has stopped in the merge lane in front of you.
Determine if you have room to merge onto the highway, if you do not (a car is currently beside you) you will have to speed up or down until you have ample space to merge into. Gradually, never abruptly, merge into the lane, following the natural path of the merging ramp. Some other pointers for you are. If for some reason truck isn’t going to move over for you. Slow down and get behind him. Get behind the truck always. It’s easier and safer for you and him. Remember most of the time he will merge to let you in but if he doesn’t. He sees something you’re not seeing. We are up high for a reason. He knows how much room he has to stop depending on his load. "HEALTHY TRUCK DRIVERS"

Life as a truck driver can be hard on our bodies. We seem to grab quick things to eat because that’s what we see in the truck stops. When we fuel, go to bathroom and go watch T.V.. This has caused us to be unhealthy drivers. A DOT officer told me “that it’s getting increasingly rare to find a two year medical card.” I figure out three main things we can do to change our diet and be healthy drivers. The three things are eat more fruits and vegetables, eat less red meat, and stay away from the buffet table.
Eating more fruits and vegetables is hard but I have seen an increase in the truck stops over the last few years. Flying J has by far the most and Pilot Travel Centers are increasing their ready to eat dishes. The next is limiting the red meat you eat. Our jobs are to mainly sit behind the wheel this tends to fold our intestines and red meat needs be able to move freely. This causes big problems such as constipation, and gall stones. “Eat more chicken” as the cow says on Chic-Filet commercials. White baked chicken is best, no fried stuff. The last thing but not the least stay…stay...far away from that buffet. This causes us to eat more than we should but cross contamination is outrageous. I saw one trucker stick his finger into salad dressing to taste it. That did it for me!
These are just some simple things to keep in mind as you are pounding the pavement. Eat your veggies, listen to the cow, and stay away from the buffet. Let’s try to be healthy drivers. Good luck and keep it between the lines, 10-4.

"Truck Cell Phone"

Safety is a great concern for all those who drive a truck. A truck cell phone is probably the most dangerous things we use. There is however three devices we could use to cut down on the accident factor. The three devices are headsets, Bluetooth, and the Cobra 29 LTD Bluetooth.

Headsets have come a long way since they first came out. They have various sizes, noise cancelling things and they come with long cords. This helps because you need to move around in your seat to take care of things while you’re driving. The next things are Bluetooth. I don’t have any experience with these because I ware hearing aids and it drives me nuts. My wife uses a Bluetooth she loves it. These also come in all shapes and sizes for your liking. The last thing I like is the Cobra 29 LTD Bluetooth. Now let me say I have used the Cobra 29 for years before I bought the Bluetooth version. I have just fallen in love with it. It’s just like my old radio same knobs in the same places. I like repetition. Weird I know. It’s got a button on hand set to turn on the phone. You talk into the microphone like you’re talking on the CB like normal, 10-4. It’s got noise canceling so people can hear you much better. Best of all no more wires to deal with.

So with that said my choice for safety while using the truck cell phone is the Cobra 29 LTD Bluetooth. We all want be safe out there and come back to our families. Well keep it between the lines. Penguin is down and out.

Some companies will even pay you while you’re in school. There are companies that need drivers so they are willing to train them. How this works most of the time you will agree to work the company for one year. Others will pay you small weekly salary of $200-$300, for three weeks. Then they will pay cents per mile. Somebody forgot to tell the officers who are checking the rest areas to lay off the truckers. I got my tires marked after being there 2 1/2 hours. On one hand I'm glad there in there checking on things. But we need to sleep where ever and whatever we need. I personally think we truck dreivers should be given full authority to sleep we feel its neccessary as long as it not permitting another to pass or endanger somebody. -Penguin

Are you new into trucking? Are you thinking of driving career? When I started driving a truck there was hardly any real advice. I have been on the road and a route driver for the last 11 years. If your married its really hard. It's a solitary experience. The only people you talk to is your driver manger. Even then your not talking to him/her because you will be on the computer or qualcomm. You will find that the log book rules go out the window. You have to make appear truthful to the man/DOT. If you like 8 hr job this is not for you. A typical day will be this. You will notify your driver manger that you ready for a load say 8am. he will tell the dispatcher to find a load where your at about, 2 hours later (10 am). Drive to shipper 1 hour later then talk to him typically it takes about two hours (1pm). Then you will have about 600 miles to deliver that load in the morning for 7am apt.. A 600 mile trip takes about 11 hrs., because you got fuel,scale, and traffic. You will get to your destination at midnight. At last you sleep 7 hrs and do it all over again. Good news you will typically earn $195 for that day. If you want more info just send me a reply. I will answer you questions to best of my knowledge. -Penguin

Life sucks right! Well just keep going sooner or later you will get off the exit. I have been a truck driver for the past 11 years. Last year I got into couple accidents, yes they were my fault. It took me seven months to get back into it. Nobody would hire me I was on the phone day in and night, Sending resumes and filling out applications. Then I got a call from a company that was willing to hire me. They had no benefits but it was job. Just don't quit life has its moments. You just got to keep going. Things just change you may not see it comming but if you just keep going it will happen. It always gets to point where you really are desperate and BOOM, you have made it to the next exit in life. KEEP ON TRUCKING friends.
